Temporary and Intermittent Outages to NASA's Solar Data Analysis Center (SDAC) and Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF) Services

The services of the NASA Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF) and Solar Data Analysis Center (SDAC) are scheduled to be offline beginning late Sunday March 8, 2026 (EDT), for at least 24 hours while the primary servers are moved to another building at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).
Main affected services include the Coordinated Data Analysis Web (CDAWeb), Satellite Situation Center Web (SSCWeb), OMNIWeb, Virtual Solar Observatory (VSO), data ingest and provision services, the SOHO and STEREO websites, and associated Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
In the days following March 8, 2026 (EDT) users should expect temporary and intermittent interruptions to services as they come back online.

Solar Physics, NASA Heliophysics and the Solar Data Analysis Center

Within NASA, research in solar physics falls within the discipline of Heliophysics, the study of the Sun, the heliosphere, and the plasma and magnetic field environment of the planets. Solar physics and the study of the Sun are fundamental to understanding space weather. Information on the big questions in the field, the focus areas in the field, and the missions that monitor conditions throughout the heliosphere and enable research in the field is available at the NASA Science website. The Solar Data Analysis Center develops and maintains scientific research infrastructure that supports the big questions and focus areas of NASA's Heliophysics Science Division
